Dated Bathroom: Part One:

Our customer engaged us to design her bedroom for this project. While we were working on it, she realized she needed to replace her outdated bathroom as well. As a result, I gladly agreed.

We began with a walkthrough of her dated bathroom and completed all of the usual tasks, such as drafting a plan and getting started on the project. Working with a client early in the process is one of my favorite things to do since we can make sure the design is precisely what they want.

The construction of the dated bathroom

Starting a construction project is a lengthy process. Before we begin, we conduct a walkthrough with our tradespeople. Secondly, we make a plan for how the construction will proceed. We don’t take any action until we know if the task can be finished on time and to our client’s specifications. Furthermore, we gather all of the items that our client enjoys and see if we can include them in the design. A bathroom is a little different because it is so specific.  Although that is the case, it can still be styled according to your client’s taste, which is precisely what we did.

Constructing a layout for the bathroom

I wanted to change the layout of the bathroom right away after inspecting it. However, modifying the layout is a significant undertaking that requires careful consideration of numerous factors.
My client has a radiator under the window, and if we go with the original design I had in mind, the radiator would have to be moved. As a result, what you imagine in your head is sometimes just that: a dream.

After contacting my contractor, he assured me that the dream I had in my brain was not feasible due to the several other issues that moving the radiator would entail. I immediately transformed my fantasies into reality and began designing the bathroom of my client’s desires in the actual world.  So, if I can’t move the radiator and toilet, I can’t move the tub, and the entire design is dead. As a result, in order to transform this outdated bathroom into a modern dream for my client, I had to devise a new layout.

A fresh approach to the dated bathroom

We are approaching this bathroom with a new and fresh perspective after dreaming and talking with all the tradesmen. My team and I have devised an excellent new strategy for my client, and she is overjoyed. Although we were unable to completely renovate the bathroom, we were able to develop a new design that the client was delighted with. This dated bathroom will maintain its radiator and toilet, but we were able to think outside the box and come up with a design that allowed my client to achieve everything she desired.

The toilet was moved into the linen closet in the initial layout, hiding it and blocking it from view. That was a great suggestion for my client. The radiator was being moved out from under the window, and the new soaker tub would take its place. In addition, the tub was being relocated to make way for a walk-in shower. My client loved all the suggestions and was upset when we couldn’t put them into action. We were determined, however, to give our client what she desired, so we had to start thinking outside the box to make this happen.

The new plan is even better.

The new plan is better for all the reasons the old plan was great. We don’t have to make too many fundamental adjustments, which saves our client money…  So, who wouldn’t prefer this approach when you can save money while receiving a similar style and not having to make too many changes to the layout? Yes, this design is noticeably better.

Clients’ style for her dated bathroom

Our client is a single woman who likes a little glitz; thus, she is influenced heavily by glamour design. So, whenever you see a shimmer, think of my friend, since she adores sparkly things. Every time I show her a shiny object, her eyes light up.  So, you can be sure that this bathroom will be gleaming with luster.

To conclude this 3 part series

Thank you for visiting the dated bathroom Behind the Scenes page. This post is just too long to fit into a single post. As a result, this bathroom will be the subject of a three-part series. Please return for the next part.
