Here are 5 must-haves tips you must use for the main bedroom in the house
- Bed frames The first decision to make when buying a bed is its size.
- The most comfortable mattress and box springs
- Sheets and pillowcases with a high thread count
- Seating, for instance, Chair, Loveseat or chaise lounge
- And of course the obvious Headboard and footboard
Before purchasing a bed frame, read these tips:
Bed frames are the first thing to consider when purchasing a bed. IN CONNECTION WITH Headboards and footboards, add 3 to 4 inches to either end of the bed. Bed covers add approximately 3 inches to the sides. Standard bed dimensions are:
- Twin: 38-39×75 inches
- Extra-long twin: 38-39×80 inches
- Double/Full: 54×75 inches
- Queen: 60×80 inches
- King: 76-78×80 inches
- California King: 72×84 inches
On graph paper, sketch the measurements of your bedroom and various bed sizes to discover which one works best. At least one side of the bed should have 30 inches of unobstructed room for mobility and changing bed linens. While shopping for bed frames, seek slats that provide appropriate support for the spring and mattress and check to see if the slats fit snugly into the frame. A strong foundation provides support and even wear for beds meant to be used without box springs.
Choosing the Comfiest mattresses and box springs is a must-haves
I learned this while working at a furniture store selling mattresses and box springs. You should change your bed’s mattress every 5 to 10 years. Test-drive the mattress before making a final selection. If you share a bed with someone, bring him or her along. Wear loose-fitting clothing and shoes that are easy to remove.
I always told my clients to stretch out on the bed for several minutes. If you can put your hand underneath the small of your back, the bed is excessively firm. The right mattress supports you so that you may turn freely, with your hips and shoulders softly cradled. Sit in the position you’re most likely to employ if you’re going to read or work in bed. Firmer does not always imply better; it all comes down to personal preference and body shape. A decent mattress supports your spine and has some give at pressure areas where your body sinks deeper into the mattress. Here are some pointers to think about.
- Examine the labels and cutaway samples to see how the mattress is made.
- The innerspring mattress is the most common type of mattress, and it is made of tempered spring coils that are covered with layers of padding and upholstery.
- Compare the number of coils and how they are constructed, the number of padding layers and the materials used, and the special characteristics.
- The more coils there are, the better the bed will wear.
- A double should have 300 coils, a queen should have 375, and a king should have 450-600, with each side topped with several layers of upholstery, one or more layers of foam, and a quilted pillow top.
- EXTRA COMFORT?
- Most mattresses are approximately 9 inches thick; however, some manufacturers provide extra-deep mattresses, which may or may not provide additional comfort.
- Make your new mattress last longer by buying the accompanying box spring. Box spring’s in good condition lake the brunt of the wear and keep the mattress looking lofty longer.

- Sheets with a good quality range from 200 to 800.
- While sleeping, polyester with a high thread count can be exceedingly hot to the touch. You may notice yourself perspiring.
- Polyester isn’t suitable for everyone. You must be certain that your body type can handle it.
- The number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch is referred to as the “thread count.
