Gift guide for him in 2021 is my very first gift guide but I see the need for one.
My husband Mark makes it very hard to shop for him no matter if it’s Christmas or his birthday. Considering that Mark is a Christmas baby he’s even harder to shop for. So, We need the Gift Guide for Him in 2021. Despite the fact that this is my first gift guide, I understand the necessity of it. When I ask Mark what he wants, he invariably responds, “I don’t know.” “I have everything I need. You guys are the focus of this discussion, not me ” (me and my daughter). What Gives? When it comes to gifts, I usually say he gets the short end of the stick because it makes it tough to shop for him or get him anything at all.
How My Daughter and I turned the tables on him when it came to gift-giving in 2020
For the entire year of 2020, my daughter and I took matters into our own hands and agreed that we would truly listen to him. As a result, it was one of the most successful gift-giving seasons ever. So, I’d want to share with you how we flipped the script when it came to picking out gifts for him. Hince the reason for Gift Guide for Him in 2021. I know you struggled as a wife, daughter, or girlfriend to your husband, father, or boyfriend, but today we’re going to try to remedy that. Let’s get this party started.
So, how did we handle the problem of purchasing for the man in our life? Firstly, we listen to all he said about needing, loving, and even disliking. My daughter Mariah is a wonderful gift-giver who always puts effort into every gift she gives, so I turned to her for advice and ideas. Mark didn’t realize that in the whole year of 2020 we were hanging on to his every word of his needs, likes, and dislikes, but we got very good at it. As a result, we heard a lot. Mark was struggling with getting older, although he’s still very much a young, handsome man, AND because his birthday is on Christmas Eve, we planned a whole series of birthday and Christmas gifts for him.

A Gift Of Necessity
We started by thinking about his essentials, or the things he needed the most, and one of the things he required was new undershirts, or should I say underwear. In addition, he required new black socks for his formal shoes. Those were the only things he genuinely required. Additionally, Winter had arrived, and because he was constantly shoveling the snow, he needed something to keep him warm, so we bought him some heated socks and gloves to keep him warm. Additionally, we purchased dress socks and underwear for him. Are you wondering what’s going to be in this Gift Guide for Him in 2021?
A Gift He Realy Wanted
Second, we focused on something he was interested in. He was desperate for fresh cologne and sneakers to run in. I took note because he was frequently complaining about how his running sneakers were no longer comfy and that he wanted new ones. With that in mind, we went out and bought some new running shoes as well as a bottle of fragrance. Our Christmas wish list grew quite long. We went from having no Christmas gifts planned for Mark to having a lot planned for Mark. But, at the time, that was a good problem to have.
His Most Treasured Gift is going to help us with the gift guide for him in 2021.
Thirdly, we focused on a gift that he would treasure forever. We knew this gift had to be special. As a result, my daughter and I realized that my husband and his mother didn’t have any photographs together. You see my husband’s mom passed away in February of 2009.
Mark and his mom share birthdays which are Christmas Eve and they use to always celebrate together. Hence the reason that time of year is always hard for him. Anyhow back to the subject at hand, because of Mark not having a picture of him and his mom together Mariah and I decided to get a photo painted of him and his mom. Have you ever heard of the company (Paint Your Life)? We discovered this company online and were able to commission a painting of Mark and his mother. This company is fantastic. They took a photo of Mark and another of his mother, merged them together, and the result was a single photo of the two of them. As a result, Mark now has a photo of himself and his mother together. To put it mildly, it was a tearjerker when we presented this gift to him as a surprise. This is a gift that Mark will treasure for the rest of his life. This is a photograph of Mark taken during his time as a realtor. His arm is out due to the variety of ways he might display home, and this image worked well because it appeared as though his arm was wrapped around his mother.
This is the true portrait of Mark and his lovely mother. Can you see how precise his hand placement was for this painting with his mother? His arms encircling his mother were the cherry on top. This, I believe, is one of the nicest gifts we could have given him. I’m sure he’ll cherish it for the rest of his life.
The Gift That Made Him Feel Special
Do you remember how I spoke about my husband feeling older and not attractive? Well, we took notice of that as well and we set off to find a way to make him feel special. You see we knew he was special but we wanted him to know just how special and attractive he was. As a result, we needed to be imaginative, and it had to come from the heart. To cut a long story short, my daughter discovered a lovely card that my mother-in-law had given to my husband on his and her last birthday before she died, and it read: Happy Birthday to a son who got it all-charm, brains, personality… When you open the card, there’s a small mirror inside. It also states. ~And just look at that kisser! What a heartbreaker!! (Sure, I get a little carried away when I talk about you, but I’m your mother- it’s my job.) Love You! Have a great day! So, how does any of this relate to helping Mark feel unique? The card from my lovely mother-in-law inspired us tremendously. When Mark was down on himself, do you recall the little mirror that was in the card? We named his birthday after the mirror, “The Man In The Mirror,” and the man in the mirror was none other than Mark.
The Unique Aspect Of The Gift
Mark hadn’t seen this card his mother had given him in years, so we took it and kept it hidden until his birthday in 2020. We knew we’d include this in his gift, but we weren’t sure how. We decided to give this to Mark in addition to the other gifts we had prepared for him. To begin, we devised a plan to inform the man in the mirror (Mark) of our collective feelings for him. As a result, we had to enlist the help of other family members, such as Mark’s siblings, who individually spoke kindly and word of love to him.
The creative component was how it was done in a unique way. Mariah and I set up a mirror and began taping all the words that came to mind about the man in the mirror.
Mariah and I both made a list of terms we thought best described Mark. But, more importantly, all his siblings did as well. Then they all expressed their love for Mark. Mark had the distinct impression of being special. Oh, we celebrated Mark for about a week between his birthday and Christmas.
We also made sure Mark had his favorite foods: deviled eggs and cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, which I forgot to mention.
